Interested in adding lighting inside my new glass door kitchen cabinets. Any ideas on how to get one light to show through the 3 different levels in each cabinet. Is the answer to get some see through shelving material (thick glass/plexiglass). Also, any advice on wiring this up? Thanks in advance.

usually you have 1/4" glass shelves (with ground edges) in cabinets that will be showing off glassware. Low voltage puck lights are often hooked up to a switch inside the cabinet so that the lights can be turned on or off just by touching the handles. Sometimes they can be equipped with a dimmer switch inside that also works with the touch of a finger.

You can install a light in top of cabinet like inside lighted china cabinets. Glass shelves can be installed that will light shine through to shelves below. If you can not locate light at local home center or electrical supply, a cabinet retailer should be able to get these. Glass shelving should be available at local glass shops. If not, the cabinet retailer can also get these.

Make sure you purchase glass shelving, not window glass cut to fit. The shelving will be tempered and a lot safer and stronger.

For lighting I recommend a low voltage puck if you can hide the xformer in a soffit or above the cabinet.
