Thanks everyone!
I'd pestered the experts here to no end about 6 months ago, but the foundation is done now and I wanted to say thanks and let you all see the (half) finished product :D
We had some real trying times with the foundation- I'd done the design myself, but ran into some issues with the wet soil and failed the footer inspection- had to hire an engineer to come out and stand on site so he could test the ground the moment the backhoe cleared it, and we back-filled with gravel. So, I've got the engineer's letter for that, everything else is looking good! I put in fibermesh and WWM, 6" in the garage and 4" under the house, full floating slabs. A few hairline cracks have shown up, but nothing more than cosmetic. Just enough to make me want to epoxy seal it!
