Any suggestions about this?

I bought many 3.5 gal containers of a Latexite product made to fill potholes. You are supposed to tamp it down and it's ready to drive over that day. Thus I filled many potholes with it.

It's been 6-8 weeks now and I can still take my finger and push it hard and my finger can sink into it. My non-professional reasoning is if my finger can push into it, it is not ready to drive over!

I had followed the installation directions. I watered the patch several times over the next week, that is supposed to harden it. But that had no effect. The water speeding up leaching of the oil is supposed to harden this black driveway patch here in New Jersey.

I talked to tech support at the manufacturer, they told me to give a heavy sprinkle of cement on it, let the oil soak into that like a blotter, then clean that up, and put another sprinkling of cement on it. This being a non published solution to my problem

I tried that as well. Two questions:

1- Any one have any suggestions on how to harden the asphalt patch so I can move on in my life?

2-Anyone recommend a brand of like patch that actually hardens in a day or two?
