I bought a refurb Toshiba TV a couple of years ago and it has always had this problem, but it only did it a couple of times a year since I bought it---now it's a regular occurence and a huge nuisance.
Whenever I change channels (particularly when I watch channels that are on the lower scale, like channels 3-35) a black square appears. The screen is not COMPLETELY blacked out, it's just a huge black square that appears dead in the middle of the screen that blacks out 80% or so of the screen. The only way to make it go away is to turn the TV off, then back on. But if it's one of the lower channels as described above it comes back right away.
Anyone know what causes this?

It is always mis-set Close Caption settings.
