We are planning to build a tub surround to drop in a whirlpool bath, I would like to tile the entire surround, (top and sides) but I am unsure how to create an access panel to the whirlpool motor (just in case!) The husband says just seal it up and hope we never need to access it, but I think it will probably break down as soon as the grout is dry!! Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Better check your local building code. In most areas pump access is required. My acess is a removable panel in an adjacent hallway.
