Is there any particular reason my window a/c is extremely noisy? It is only 2 years old but buzzes and rattles like its 50.:wall:

Is it installed right? The noise always going or just at times?
Did you make sure all the shipping package been removed in the blower area?

was unit always noisy? I dont work on window units, only central, but given its age, if the evaporator or condenser coil is becoming plugged with dirt then this noise and vibration could be the result of your motors straining to pull air across the coils, may want to have it serviced... not sure of your knowledge of HVAC but cleaning a window unit is something a knowledgable homeowner could do.

Like acman asked, is this a new noise ?
Brand and size would help also is this and old double hung single pane window or a newer style ?
