We are the in process of getting HUMIDIFIER installed. Honeywell HE225 installed was suggested to us by the installer. Anyone have experience with this unit? Is it a good model? Any tips would be nice.

Thanks in advance.

It's a good line. Just make sure there is a summer/winter damper so you can close it off in the summer when you run the A/C.

Is this going on gas furnace or heat pump?

Jay, Thanks for your reply.

We are in toronto and using gas furnance and planning on getting central humidifer installed - Honeywell Model HE225.

I have been told that having central humidifer in home is not a good idea as it does more harm then good. Is there any truth to that statement?

It can be a problem if you don't take care of the unit, and set the system at correct set point with the ourdoors temp.

Otherwise, it will run fine for many years. Change the pad once a year.

Your furnace isn't in the attic is it? If it's in an at least semi conditioned space and no chance that it will get below freezing and as long as it's properly maintained you'll be fine.
