I am having the last stage of my asphalt driveway done tomorrow. I have heard it is a good idea to run hose water down the driveway to test for puddle buildup before you pay them.

Has anyone else heard of this? I am not sure if there is any damage the water can cause to the new asphalt.

Thanks

Water should not damage new asphalt. Testing with water sounds reasonable, but I have never known anyone to do this. A professional paving company with the proper equipment and knowledge should not leave a driveway with low spots that puddle.
