My humidifier is attached to my furnance and it has a hose that goes into a box below that is (I'm told) a condensate pump for my central air. When I went into my basement this morning there was water all over my floor. I looked in the furnace room and water was pouring out of the hose from the humidifier into the box and was overflowing. I took out the filter wheel thing in the humidifier and pulled up the float and the water would stop. But when I released the float the water would start pouring out of the hose again. So I had to tie it up, to keep water from pouring out. Now there is another hose from the condesate pump box that goes into my laundry room into the sink, but no water was coming out of that hose. So some said maybe the motor in the pump isn't working. But why would the float in the humidifier keep pumping out water and where is the water coming from in the first place. Perhaps it is more than 1 problem. Any ideas. thanks, janet.
