We are comparing laminate flooring brands and have found some have glued joints where they lock together and others do not. Will this make any difference. We have 2 large dogs ( 75 LBS each) and need something that will stand up. We are installing over a concrete slab in North Carolina-any brand suggestions would be helpfull
Thanks

Glueless installation is easier and less time consuming. There is no wait for glue to dry before floor can be used if doing a glueless installation. Glueless joints often come with a lifetime warranty for joint integrity, whereas glued joints do not. This is probably because glueless can handle movement and stress on joints, whereas stressed glued joints may split. Replacement of glueless planks should be easier than glued planks.

If pet urine is going to be an issue, a product that requires a water-proof glue to keep moisture out of the core may be your choice. Also, a waterproof core or water-resistant core may be in order. Waterproof would likely be desired if pet urine is an issue. There are pre-glued or glue activated products where the tongue is wiped with water and the panels are clicked together like glueless products. The water activates the glue and gives you a glued joint without using glue.

Thanks for the info. Pet accidents are a concern-can you suggest any brands with the features you were talking about.
