I have just cleaned my GE gas cook top and no matter what burner I turn on it always tries to ignite the same burner. Any ideas why this is happening?
Thanks

Is this a for-real question? I have never heard of such a thing before. Each burner has a separate gas tube leading to it.
So you mean to tell me that when the gas is off on some burner, it will come on anyway, just because you turned the dial that goes to some OTHER burner?

Is the gas only going to one burner or does the same burner spark no matter which burner you try to turn on?
With most cooktops, when you light any given burner, all the burners spark ignitors will spark. If this is the case, it is nothing to be concerned about.
Aside from that, do all the burners physically light when they should?

Hello Darrell. Welcome to my Gas Appliances topic.
Question lacks specific needed information and detail. What I have to ass-ume is you are referring to the sparker's all sparking at the same time even if you are only attempting to light one burner????
If such is so, that is normal. All sparker's will spark at all burners even though you are lighting only one burner. A built in safety system which is required. A normal condition.
If this is NOT what you mean, kindly explain in more specific details. Use the reply button to do so. Need far more specific and detailed information to provide the help you need and are requesting.

Thanks for your replies. I guess I was a little vague. The gas goes to each burner as it is supposed to. However, the spark igniter only sparks on on the back left burner no matter what knob I turn on.

Hello Darrell.
Thanks for the additional and more complete details.
If you cleaned the stove and the problem began, could be residue cleaning powered (Ajax or similar product) remains on the sparker's. Cleaning them now is required. Do so very carefully. They can break, become damaged, etc. easily.
Excess water may have gotten onto the switches which activate the sparker's. They are located on top of the gas valves and under the knobs.
Far more detailed info in the help sticky note. Reading that info and determining which condition applies to your stove top will provide the solution(s)
