We don't have a problem with dry air here in Michigan but recently my wife and I spent 10 days in southern Nevada at a CandleWood Suites Inn. I know it's dry in the desert but this was ridiculous. Both of us had terribly dry, painful sinuses during our stay and it happened mostly while in the hotel room.
I tried placing a pan of water in front of the wall mounted cooling unit where the air comes out but that didn't help. Here in Michigan, during the heating season whenever I stay at a hotel, the pan of water works great to add humidity in the room, but it did nothing on this trip; probably because of the A/C running instead of heat.
Any ideas on how to add humidity in an extreme dry climate when you're running the A/C in a hotel room? Would a vaporizer help?
Thanks,
Phil

You can also spray nose with saline solution to keep nose and sinuses moist.
