Please help. We have new maple cabinets that were custom built but the stain (medium tone) is very uneven because of the wood & the because the stain was sprayed on. (No help from the finisher will be given-he just said it happens occassionaly due to the wood.) We want to avoid painting them if possible and since the color is medium we don't mind stripping and going darker or whatever is necessary.
But after reading the articles on problems with maple refinishing coming out uneven, I wonder how to go about it, what products to use, etc. and would really appreciate any tips. Thanks.
