We're looking to put a counter top into our kitchen and we are considering a concrete one. Has anyone had any experience with them. And what is their duability and longevity? Thanks.

My sister had concrete countertop installed 4-5 years ago. It looks really good. The fabricator colored the top to compliment the cabinets. The material is really tough, but you need to keep it sealed. It is susceptible to staining if not sealed.

It is also susceptible to chipping. Check out Consumer Reports website. They just did an article on kitchen countertops this month and talk about all the different types. Personally I think granite is the way to go if cost is not an issue. I love my kitchen since it was redone in granite!
