If marker is permanent it is likely the stain is permanent. Although hair spray contains alcohol, it contains other ingredients such as lacquers that can compound cleaning problems. It is not recommended for ink or marker removal. For non-permanent ink and marker, rubbing alcohol tends to be effective. Use white rag and alcohol, blotting from outside stain to middle. If stain appears to be getting lighter, continue to blot until stain is gone.

If permanent ink, you may be able to remove it with a solvent containing naphta. I believe Oops! is one option.

Both Oops and Goof Off can damage colors in carpets, clothes and fabric. Test first in inconspicuous place.
