My mother found my much-treasured Little Oxford Bible in the back of her van--along with spilled antifreeze. While the fabric cover I had on it did protect the bible somewhat, The back cover is now soaked in antifreeze, and the stains reach in to the New Testament. Any advice on how to deal with this? I'd like to clean it all up... but... Just getting the leather in working order again would be a plus.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Solvents tend to make leather brittle. Because leather on Bibles is a covering over layers of paper or cardboard, the use of a leather cleaning kit might successfully remove antifreeze. You will not be able to clean layers below or remove stains from paper. Odor will eventually dissipate. Place Bible in well-ventilated place.

Do you have any recommendations for a leather cleaner for "Bible Leather"? Mine's a bit less smooth, and a bit firmer than some Bibles. Unfortunately, I can't remember the exact make-- but I do remember it was something fairly exotic, and it was certainly bound from complete leather--not composite.
Once again, thanks!

There are leather cleaning/conditioner kits available. Test in inconspicuous place first for any ill effects.
