Hello,
I got a bid to replace by worn out 4-ton Panye outdoor compressor and indoor Bryant air handler. I live on the central Florida east coast 1 block from the beach.
The contractor wrote up an estimate for a 4-ton Bryant Evolution compressor 2-speed variable (model 598BNX048); a Bryant variable speed air handler (model FE4ANF005); plus and extra corrosion-resistant coating "Adsil" for and extra $500.00. Total $ is $7096 less a $1200 Bryant mail-in rebate and less a $575 power company rebate. Total wallet damage: $5321.
Well, having browsed various manufacturers online, I noticed that Bryant makes a CoastGuard line specific to coastal areas; it already comes shipped with Bryant's TuffCoat coating for coastal locales.
Since I know very little about these things, I would appreciate any direction you can offer.
Many thanks in advance,
Majac777

Check on Trane they also have a salt water set up in units. You dont say the seer. Id go for a seer of 15 or better down there. They have a 10 year warranty on parts. What ever you do . It helps to just turn the unit off and hose the condenser down every 5 to 6 weeks. I know it works down in the keys.
