Folks what is a ball park figure for a 3.5 ton, 14 SEER, R410a unit - air handler and condenser - from say, Carrier or Trane or York?
I need to replace mine - I was trying to figure out a benchmark for labor and parts cost.
Thank you.

First need a lot more INFO INFO here. where how ,what all is to be done??? Then its still hard to say from one place to the other just what cost is. The way things are we try not to sell R410a its cost is to high. then if you have a leak the rest has to be taken out and all new put back in.
R22 will be made till 2030. Think the unit will run that long. You dont say where you are? If the AC runs a lot then Id go for a SEER of 15.
Sorry this is not what you where looking for
ED;)

Thanks Ed.
Here's some more info:
I am planning to replace my old Armstrong system.
I was thinking a 3 ton, R-22. My old line sets seems o.k. However on the air handler front I will need to pull a wire to the attic (from the (first floor) garage) for 240 volts - the old handler works on 115. We live in eastern MA.
A carrier or Bryant will be fine.
I look forward to your suggestions and ball park estimates.
