My home has a central heater, but no A/C. I received a quote for new central A/C (Coleman 3.5 ton 13 seer unit) for around $4k. It carries 10-10-10 warranty, comes with a wireless thermostat (around $400). Any feedback on Coleman A/C units? I have heard about Trane, Rheem, but not a whole lot about Coleman. Also, is $4k a reasonable quote?

I just replaced a Coleman system. It was 28 years old and still cooled great but had a leak in the coil and home owner decided to upgrade. So yes Coleman is a decent unit.
4K sounds pretty good.
Did the contractor do a heat load/loss calculation "Manual-J" to properly size the equipment? If not they need to.
