Hello everyone- this looks like a great board. =)
Question. I have had this problem ever since I moved into my condo about 10 months ago. Im on the 2nd floor (the top floor) and from what Ive been told is both floors (the unit under me) share a drain pipe. My blower is located above the ceiling in the attic. Every 2 months it starts leaking water because the drain pipe gets clogged, and Ive had to call my AC guy to come and blow out the drain pipe to get it unclogged.
Happened to me this past weekend, he told me that the problem could be that there is mold growing in the pipe which causes it to clog. (Everytime he blows it out a little reddish colored like gewwy stuff comes out of the pipe.) Is this common? How can I fix this? Am I going to have to get drain pipe blown out every 2 months?
He mentioned putting Clorox in the pipe normally would be a possible fix but since my blower is in the ceiling and not in the normal hallway closet that it wouldnt work.
Please help.

In the industry we use tablets in the pan under the evaporator coils. I never use clorox because of the alkalinity of the product.
Not sure where you can get pan tabs retail. You might ask your A/C guy for some next chance you get. One per month when you change the filter should do it.
