I am looking at replacing my 25-year-old 1.5T, HVAC system with Trane 2 Ton, 16 SEER, XL-16I air-conditioner and XV 80 dual nozzle furnace. This is for the upper floor that measures 1100 Sq. feet. Price is in around 7500$ for this unit. This includes new refrigerant lines (the old ones are small, being 3/8, and 5/16”. The new line will be 7/8” and 3/8”. Also included, are two additional returns and one supply vent

The other option is 1.5T Lenox 13 seer unit with 80% variable speed heater that costs 5200$

Is heat pump a better choice for me? I would like to know your opinion on the system, price and performance

I think in your area a heat pump would be a great choice.

I like your 1st bid myself.

With MATT Go to http://www.warmair.net
you can check fuel cost and see . About all we sell are heatpumps . How long will you stay in his home ????? Has a lot to do with what you put in for the payback.
But Id drop down to a XL15i should have a seer of 15.10 and a HSPF of 8.05. Stay R22 for now it will be around till 2030. For sure stay with a V/S blower .You can put a humidistat on it to do a much better job of getting the humitity out of the home and thats what you need where you are
