Hi all,
I am in the market to buy a flat panle LCD TV. The largest LCDs I've found (in my price range) are the following:
1) Samsung 46" LCD HDTV (LN-S4692D)
2) Sony BRAVIA 46" LCD HDTV (KDL-46S2000)

roughly about the same price.
I was going to ask if anyone can point out the pros and cons on these two and point me to the right choice.

Thanks.:thinker:

I would choose the Sony over the Samsung. We have the Samsung on display at our store and the picture looks like crap. I've changed out cables and fine tuned it all I could, and it still looks grainy. We are suppose to get the Sony 46" on display but have had issues getting them in, so I can only go off of the 40" version. The only problem I've seen with the non-XBR series is that analog broadcasts look very poor on them. Not that analog looks good anyway, but the XBR series tends to be more forgiving. From your previous post, I notice that you are only going to be doing an antenna so again I would do the Sony over Samsung. Sony's also have a few more inputs on them than the Samsung if I'm not mistaken.

Something you might also look at is if your looking at spending 3500.00 on a TV, Samsung makes a 50" plasma for the same price. You get a bigger size TV and a better picture for the same money. LCD's are generally more expensive than plasma's when they hit the 40" mark. Something to keep in mind.

I agree, I would also go with the SONY. Can't beat the picture on those Bravia's. Personally I think LCD is a much better technology than Plasma, but you've probably already made your decision as to which technology you want.
