We were cleaning up our kitchen after painting and found a paint pad upside down on the vinyl floor. The pad had latex paint on it and may have been there from the previous day.
We tried washing the area with Dawn Dish soap and then tried rubbing alcohol.
Our floor has a red brick pattern and when something wet has sat on it for a long time the floor turns grayish in color. Even when you towel it dry the gray color will stay for hours. The following morning it is back to its normal color.
After cleaning it with Dawn and rubbing alcohol we thought the grayness to the area was due to being wet.
Here is the problem- This morning the floor now has a larger circle area that is whitish. We can no longer see the outline of the paint pad. Did we just spread the paint out to a larger area?
Any ideas on how to remove this?

Sounds like you may of spread it out a bit and effected any "wax" or finish that may of been on the floor. When finish is damaged if can "white" out as you described.
The only way to fix that would be to refinish the floor, by stripping and laying new finish or "wax" Feel the area with your hand if you can tell a different texture to the effected area vs the rest of the floor. That may be the problem
