I have a Kitchen table that I was told was solid wood. This is true I believe for 99% of the table. The table top however has a veneer or something as it appears to be peeling like wallpaper and since I have never seen wood peel it has to be something else. What can I do to fix the problem. I would like to somehow refinish the whole thing in a darker stain or something it is currently a honey oak and I'm thinking cherry?
