I am getting ready to finish furniture for my daughters "big girl" room. I bought a headboard in an antique white finish and want to paint some furniture to match. I am not sure what materials to use to achieve this, paint or spray? Varnish or not? Here is a picture of a similar bed, as well as pictures of the furniture I am painting. The dressers I believe are pine, or at least have a pine stained finish. I know I need to sand them. Prime or seal? I would appreciate your wealth of information. :)

Sand, wipe clean, prime, sand lightly & wipe clean, paint
Check with a name brand paint store for the appropriate products.
If at all feasible, take part of the bed with you for a custom color match.
