I have a 6 year old ceiling fan that clicks. I don't know the brand, it doesn't say it anywhere on the fan. I decided to clean it 2 days ago, which improved, I've also tightened loose screws, secured the shades, adjusted the light bulbs, and I still get a clicking noise. I flipped the blades because there was another finish on the back and it has improved a little more. I think that I have to oil, but I don't know where, and I don't want to risk taking it apart because everything that needs fixing ends up breaking lol. Thanks...

You have a wire touching the rotating fan armature, which will fail in time, too. The only solution is to remove the fan pull up on the wires to clear it from the armature, and reinstall it. By the time you do that you could buy a fan you like, under a warranty, and have it installed before prime time. It really isn't worth fighting a fan (or anything) that needs to be put down. Today's fans use no oil. Only 50 year old Hunters. Gosh I miss them.

Thanks for the reply. The fan looks bad anyway, it has 4 blades and I guess it's not worth getting it fixed.
