What should I set my humidistat for my condo in Florida while not in residence? I was told to set my thermostats at 75 degrees and humidistat at 50% relative humidity....seems too humid. I know humidistat and air handler wok in conjunction, What would be the optimum settings to avoid dampness and mold.

Most humidistats manage humidifying or dehumidifying as needed. Ideal humidity should be between 35-55%. Desired humidity level is also relative to your comfort level. You can check humidity level with a hygrometer (sold where they sell thermometers). Make sure your humidistat is working properly and is of adequate size for the space.
