Hi I have a Honda 250cc Recon 4 wheeler it was running a couple of months ago and won't start now. No apparent spark. I have replaced the spark plug with a new one and with it hooked to the plug wire but dangling down the side I see no spark when cranking it( electric start). Did I get a BAd new spark plug? shouldn't I be able to see the spark? thanks!

the coil is probally bad. only one way to check get a spark plug tester

You say that you had it dangling down the side. Did you have the threaded portion of the plug grounded to clean metal on the engine? If the plug is hanging in space, you will never see a spark.

thanks for the help guys !
I feel stupid because my little boy flipped the kill-switch on the hand grip.
I have never used it and forgot what it even did! DUh!!
Got spark now. thanks for the hints though I will keep those in mind if I have a similar problem with my mowers or tractor.
So keep this one in mind if you have a 4 wheeler.
It'll save ya going to the shop I called the Honda dealer and all they could tell me was bring it in for 75.00 we'll look at it...
What a rip those dealer guys are! Will remember when I go to trade this one in!
