I have a cracked sagging rafter that I need to repair. I plan on cutting a 2x6 to 6' ft. jacking the rafter then placing the sister 2x6 into place. I will secure it with 1/2" carriage bolts, washer, lock washer and nut. Will 6 bolts be enough or should I use a few more?
This 6ft section should extend about 2-3ft past the cracked points. Is that far enough? Thanks for the help.
