hello all. in my kitchen renovation i was planning on boxing in some water pipes that are exposed in one of the corners of the room.
i'm assuming boxing it in is OK. how far away should the drywall be from the pipes? any way to minimize the noise as well (while I'm at it).
they are hot and cold water supply lines for a bathroom upstairs.
thanks in advance.

You will box it in with wood, and apply sheetrock as a veneer on the outside. Pack it with insulation prior to applying the sheetrock to reduce any noise. Your dimension lumber boxing will keep the sheetrock sufficiently away from the pipes.
