Here is my dilemma. I am trying to hang a new light fixture, followed the way it was done previously, but it is not working. Here is what I have, two switches, one is a dimmer switch. In the plain switch, I have a black wire on the right side of the box, a white on the top left and a red on the bottom right. In the dimmer switch, I have a red on the left top attached to a red in the junction box, a red and black attached on the right top, the red attached to a black from the box and the black attached to a black from the box. In the ceiling, I have a red attached to a red, a single white, another single white, and two blacks twisted together. On the fixture I have two separate brown wires. Can anyone help me figure this out or is it time to call an electrician? Thanks in advance for your help.

sounds like you are describing a 3 way switch. If it was working before and you replaced it with an identical fixture with the same wires why it doesn't work would be anyone's guess. Since every electrician seems to have different ways to wire a 3 way I can't see how anyone would be able to tell you what is wrong so I'm afraid you may have to get an electrician to trace and discern the wiring. Good Luck
Edit: My only other thought was to try to hook up the old fixture the way it was and maybe you can figure out why that one works and the new one doesn't
