Good day folks,

I finally got my DSC Power 632 PC1555MX system running as a stand alone alarm. It has 8 zones, all them work.

Now I've been trying to get it to contact the monitoring station with no luck.

If I unplug the telephone line, the keyboard chimes and incicates a phone line fault so it obviously monitors the phone line.

I've made sure the communication option is on by going into section 380 and entering "1" as the first entry.

I've entered my cel phone number in section 301 preceded by a 4 second delay, the area code and an "F" to indicate the end of the number.

I've also set section 360 to "05". I just want to confirm that the system is calling but so far, no go. It just does not call my cel phone. Furthermore if I pick up the phone I don't get an indication that it is calling.

What should I be doing ?

Robert

Did you enter the report codes for the things you wish the panel to dial out for? On DSC 1555 panels, they are not automatic. You have to program a report code for every desired report.

NOTE:When using Pager format, you must program two hex
digit E’s at the end of the telephone number (section 5.9 in the installer manual).

If your phone line is wired correctly, you will never hear it dial on a phone handset, as the line siezure feature will disconnect the house lines while the panel dials.

No. I tried entering "1" in option 7 of section 381 to set it to automatic. At least that's what though was required. If I enter the codes, what do I enter ? The manual in very unclear about entering these codes.

I'll try that.

Didn't hear that so far but I'll try the double "E"s first.

Thanks

Section 381 option 7 is for Contact ID codes. For pagers, you have to pick a code for your reporting. Most programmers do something like 11 for zone 1; 12 for zone 2; 13 for zone 3, etc.

There is no "standard" set of codes. Just pick a pattern and go with it.
