We are the middle of a remodel and we had newly painted (as of 3-4 weeks ago) white doors put in the house...today my husband accidentally brushed against the door with a blue ballpoint pen. I tried cleaning with an all purpose cleaner and sponge...then drying with a soft cloth, but it didn't work. Any ideas for getting this stain off the door without damaging the paint?

Welcome to the forums

I don't know if there is an effective method of cleaning off the ink. I do know how to cover it with paint. First you need to prime/seal it with a shellac based primer. This will prevent the ink from bleeding through the paint. Then you can touch up or repaint the door.

Sometimes denatured alchol will remove ink stamps - maybe it would work on this.

Alcohol is the preferred solvent for ink removal, but it may also soften or dissolve the paint. I think Mark's idea of sealing and painting is probably the easiest choice.
