Hi,
I have a Yale bathroom door lock that got locked and does not unlock if I turn the unlock control. If I use the unlock pin that the builder gave to unlock from outside, it does open. It looks like the lock/unlock switch on the inside is not working. Could you suggest a solution for this.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Is the inner spindle correctly aligned with the inner turnbutton?

The spindle is the part/parts that typically goes through the latch from one knob to the other. Can be square or flat or some other shape. You have to take the lock off the door to check this. The button is connected to some type of spindle which goes through the lock to lock/unlock the outer knob.
Take the knob off the door and check it out, work the parts with the lock together, acutuate the spots where the spindles go with a screwdriver to see how they work. This will help you understand how the lock works and what the problem may be.
I am not sure of the Yale configuration. I assume this is a recent development and has not always done this. If recent, something may have broken. Also any loose screws and binding/knob alignment should have been corrected before assuming mechanical failure.
If something is broken, with these low-end locks, you should replace them.
