How long do I need to wait before priming/painting over hydraulic cement patches? I have a can of Quikrete Water-Stop. However, there are no instructions about painting. I have searched the Quikrete Web site, but could not find an answer.

Good question - wish I had a good answer :p

The only times I have ever painted any hydraulic patches it was a last minute thing and right or wrong painted it within 24hrs. The worst that can happen is the patch could burn the color out of the paint - which another coat later would fix.

Thanks!

I guess it may be best to use an oil-based sealing/blocking primer.

Oil base primer sealer might be better but I have always used latex on the repairs [not that I've done it frequently] and have not had any problems brought to my attention.

Hydraulic cement's main ingredient is portland cement.
I'd use an acrylic masonry primer, then acrylic top coat.
Wait at least 48 hours after applying before coating with anything.
