I have an 81YO house with a single heat source (a wall furnace downstairs). It gets pretty cold upstairs, any suggetions on getting heat upstairs w/o spending a fortune? The previous owner cut a hole in the floor of the upstairs hall, into the living room , I had to seal this durring a major repair. Is this my best option?

I don't know what a fotune is to you :D but there are several options.
1. A baseboard heater under each window.
2. A ducted heating unit in the attic.
