how can I get rid of rust in enamelware? Are there any products that will not ruin the rest of the paint?

Enamelware is fused glass on metal surface. Once crazing or cracking occurs on utensils it is best to use pieces as decorative objects as cracks can harbor bacteria. Rust on enamelware surface can be removed with powdered cleanser like BarKeepers Friend or Zud which contain rust remover.
