Don't know what forum to post this in. I just painted my garage floor and would like to put a clear coat sealer over it but need to know what to use? Thanks

What did you paint the floor with?
Normally the stain/paint that is applied is all the sealer you need.

I used concrete floor paint which has been OK so far but I would like to put something like HC sealer over it if needed.

Exactly what kind?
(not being nosy, it's important)

If you mean H&C stains [also comes in clear], they are usually not compatible with other paints. H&C stain is intended for clean concrete but can be recoated over it self. When restaining with H&C it will partially disolve the prior coat creating a good bond.

It was just paint for concrete from HD is there anything you would suggest going on top of it?

Contact the paint manufacturer for recommendations. Compatibility may be an issue.

I'm not sure that you will find a clear sealer to go over your floor paint and give the results you want. Paints don't normally wear good on high traffic floors, that is why stain is usually preffered [and it will wear away]
Generally garage floors are repainted/stained as needed.

The problem with a garage floor is "hot tire pickup". The tires get hot from driving and eventually cause the paint to fail, even concrete paint. There are special paints, epoxies actually, that are made for garage floors.
Like the others, I don't know of a sealer to put down over the paint.

I suppose I could try and put an epoxy over the painted garage floor but not sure if I need to etch first since it is not bare concrete.

Get that existing paint up first. Rent a pressure washer and use the 15 degree tip. You need high pressure. The little home use washers won't cut it.
The paint thats left can be ground off. Perhaps a soy-based stripper will work, too.
