Does anyone have an example of a cost breakdown per line for a new house?
We are planning an 1100 sq ft house and in the process of doing a budget.
I'd like to have an example and basically replace the budgeted items with the prices I find as I go along.
I had a percentage breakdown for every item, but seem to have lost the file.
I know that it's basically impossible to do an average budget, but it'll give me someplace to start.

Check with your local bank. Most have a form that is used with new construction loans. It breaks down the house into "tasks" and what percentage of a total house they are. Install windows may be 1.5% and roofing may be 2%...
