My son just bought his first house. I went to help paint. It was VERY difficult. Very wild colors and almost like rubber. After 2 primer coats and 2 finish coats, we found old paint cans in the garage. It was Acrylic Vinyl Enamel. I never heard of that. Did we prepare the walls correctly, or will we have a mess when it starts to peel?

It is hard to say without more info. Vinyl acrlic latex paint is usually on the lowwer end of quality.
Providing the previous paint was well bonded and you used quality paint, it is unlikely that there will be any problems.

Unfortunately, there's no way to know at this point
Only time will tell
As you haven't mentioned any sliding, pealing or wrinkling yet, I think there's a good chance it will hold
