My Trane split system AC is about 12 years old. The unit servicing the upstairs does not provide air flow from the vents. Changed filters, cleaned coil. After off for a few hours works but then ices up (pipes up and down). All fans work. Am I out of freon or is the condensor bad? Technician scheduled to come in a few days,

More than likely you have a leak and the freon is low.
