I have a Trane Furnace and A/C. Both are a new install 3.5 years ago. All worked fine until a few days ago when we turned off the A/c and I noticed last night that the compressor and fan were still running outside. I can turn the stat off and even shut the furnace off at the switch. Is there a control board outside that needs replacing? The only way to turn off is to pull the breaker outside.

Thanks in advance!

Do you know electric?? If so check out side unit and see it the contactor is stuck. Bugs get into them sometimes. Also check stat inside pull Y wire off and see if that turns it off if so its in the stat.

Thanks, it was the contact being stuck. I really do hate electric it makes me tingle with all the voltage http://forum.doityourself.com/images/smilies/eek.gif... As soon as I disconnected the low voltage it freed the contact and has been cycling fine ever since.

Thanks again!
