Hi, I have just completed building a new bathroom vanity made with oak veneered plywood. I want to stain it a nice chocolate brown but still allow the grain to be visible. I can't find a suitable stain on the shelves on my local stores. Any suggestions?

Check out Sherwin Williams stains. They'll have the color you want.

SWP along with most paint stores can custom mix just about any color stain you would want. Plywood doesn't always stain as well as regular lumber [grain usually looks different] and often it takes longer for the stain to dry. Avoid applying the sealer/poly too soon or it might lift some of the stain off.
