I have used Novo Plan 2 leveling compound to level an uneven subfloor that was laid by a contractor. The floor is almost level but when I run my string across it there is still a slight difference in one section...like 1/8". Will this be a problem? I am also wondering if I need to lay anything else on top of it before I lay my thinset and begin tiling. The Novo Plan didn't cover all of the floor so some of the backerboard is still exposed I have a pic if someone wants me to email it to them.
thanks!

Cant you go a little heavier with the thinset in that one area?
1/8" is not a problem unless you are setting the tile with a tight grout joint. Exposed cement board is not a problem, unless I am miisssing your point, you can set directly to it.

the board that is exposed looks to be 3/4" plywood backboard.. there is only about a foot or two that is exposed.. can I still lay the thinset on it that?

As long as it is exterior grade plywood , not luan or pressboard or OSB, yes, with a modified thinset.
