I just completed tiling a new bath addition. I held the pvc flange w/ a metal ring up 3/4'' to accomodate the 1/4 backer board thinset and tile. The ring now sits up about an 1/8 to 3/16' above the finished floor tile. What are your suggestions for a spacer of that thickness, also what size (#10?) and type screws should be used the fasten down the flange once I have the spacer material underneth. Thanks!

Use enough Extender rings to get the thickness you need. I know they come in 1/4" and some places carry thicker ones. Each will have a seal on one side to prevent leaks. The holes in flanges and extender rings are countersunk so buy screws that fit the depression and are long enough to secure the flange and extender(s) to the subfloor. Good luck.

Glad to help. If you can get thicker ones, go for it. I always feel that the less number of joints, the less chance for leaks.

Actually, I would need a thinner one, as it is going under the flange, which now sits 1/8 to 3/16' ABOVE the finished tile floor, which runs completely underneath it. I slightly over estimated the finished floor hight when I roughed in the flange.
