We have a weird problem.
Our house has central A/C, which was installed by the previous owners. We replaced the compressor a few years ago.
Recently on occasion the system has been failing to turn on when the thermostat tells it to. We got Sears out to look at it, and he determined that a relay circuit board in the air handler (maybe in the coil? I'm not sure) is beginning to give out -- it's receiving 24V to say 'switch yourself on' and sometimes not actually switching on the fans and compressor.
The problem is that we can't identify the brand of the attic units and therefore how to get parts! There is no identifying mark that we can see on the unit, and we even dug out the manuals for the coil and air handler, and they contain no manufacturer information -- they just refer to the units by part number (42760L095 and 42604L095). The manuals are just a few Xeroxed sheets stapled together and are dated 1995.
Sears are apparently researching the unit to see if they can work out what it is, but it'll take them a couple weeks -- but does anyone here know what we have and whether we can get a new relay board? (I've tried a Google search and struck out.)

Is this only AC ?

If you mean 'does it contain forced-air heating as well?' then it's only AC. The (water-based) heating system was part of the house when it was built; the AC was added later. (We're in Massachusetts -- a minority of houses have central AC here.)

If it is only AC then have it rewired to just a relay to turn the fan on or off.

You say you replaced the compressor. Was it just the compressor or the entire outdoor unit? If just the compressor (part of the outdoor unit) & you know the brand of the outdoor unit, chances are the indoor air handler is of the same brand.
