we have a hampton bay 52 inch fan we purchased two years ago. It works with a remote control.
Recently the fan started working only on "slow speed". I called Home Depot, then Hampton bay then the manufacturer and they said I needed a receiver switch/unit which was $38 and "backordered". I asked if we could get the switch/unit elsewhere and they said "no".
So my question is- is that true? Or is there anything else we could do to try and fix the problem? My husband is ready to go out and purchase a new fan (Not Hampton Bay!) but I wanted to know if there is anything we could try first since it's only 2 years old and cost $160.
thanks:confused:
