Any help on this would be appreciated: Our home central air system uses a Snyder General outdoor compressor that most likely was installed in '88 or so. The system works fine except that, as of a few days ago, the compressor won't trip off when the correct temperature has been reached in the house. Any idea what could be causing this and what we could do to fix it? Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Pull Y wire off the stat and see if thats stops it . If so could be in the stat. If not Check the contactor in the outside unit. Bug and ants get in the points and it weld them on or shut sometimes.
