Help...I'm new to this board, first posting. I'm replacing a Lux 9000 prog. thermostat w/a Hunter 44760 prog. thermostat. The wiring instructions are quite confusing... Could use some step by step instructions on replacement wiring....
Thanks....

Awh so we have yanked all the wires off the old Tstat without marking them?? if so we will have to go to the other end at the unit pull the service panel and note which color is on which terminal. Lots of combinations out there and no real standard. Are we hooking up to a heat pump or some exotic ground source unit or maybe a dual fuel or a zoned system wat you got there?

The old thermostat had all the wires plugged in with g to green, w to white, r to red and y to yellow. there was also a black wire bridging RC and RH. RH being where the red wire was. We are not sure why the black wire was there or what it was doing.

Thanks Former Member for trying to help. I took the thermostat back and replaced it w/a different model. I've got the new one up and running w/no problem. I had purchased a heat pump unit by mistake....:wall: I'm sure it'd work great if I had a "heat pump."
Again, thanks for your time.....
