I have a question and if I am in the wrong board, please let me know.

My home is a 30 year old ranch and all the return metal piping in the attic and all the ac/heat metal piping in the crawl.

During the course of a day I will hear creaks in the ceiling. I do have the AC going since it is hot.

Can you advise why my house is creaking so much in the ceiling?

thank you

Welcome to the forums

it is probably just expansion/contraction due to temp changes, unless you have suspicious cracks in the ceiling, wall or floor I wouldn't worry about it.

The only cracks I have found are some that are in the upper corner of a door or window frame. THe start at the frame and go outward on an angle

That is a common place for wall cracks, unless they are new or growing it shouldn't be a problem.
